Chat Memories can save photos and videos directly to your macOS Photos library. Items are organised into a dedicated album named after the chat they came from, making them easy to find.

How to save photos and videos

  1. 1
    Click "Select" in the toolbar

This enters multi-select mode. A circle appears on each thumbnail.

  2. 2
Click the items you want to save

Each selected item shows a blue checkmark. You can select as many as you like.

  3. 3
    Click "Save to Photos"

All selected items are saved to your Photos library at once.

Albums: Saved items are grouped into an album named after the chat. You'll find it in the Albums section of your Photos library.
Already saved? Items you've previously saved show a checkmark badge in the grid. The app tracks downloads so you never save the same file twice.

Photos access

The first time you save to Photos, macOS will ask for permission to access your Photos library. Click Allow to continue. If you declined previously, you can re-enable access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.

Free tier limit

The free version of Chat Memories allows 5 saves per day. The toolbar shows your remaining saves. If you reach the limit, you'll see the option to unlock unlimited saves. See How to unlock unlimited saves.
